7 things to do when it rains at LEGOLAND New York!
Visiting LEGOLAND New York is always a fun way to spend the day, but Mother Nature can be fickle. Have no fear, LEGOLAND New York has plenty of fun activities to keep you entertained rain or shine! Here are some of our favorite things to do when the weather isn’t cooperating!
1. Master Spinjitzu on LEGO® NINJAGO® the Ride
If you’re practicing your Spinjitzu with Kai and it begins to drizzle, head inside to LEGO® NINJAGO® the Ride! Master Wu will teach you all the skills to become a master of the elements. As you learn the skills with your fellow teammates, be careful the Great Devourer is attempting to attack, and it may come down to your skills to save the World!
2. Become a member of the Builders Guild!
If you are a visiting knight or princess exploring the LEGO® Castle courtyard in bad weather, please seek shelter at Builders Guild, where you can put your considerable skills to use in helping the king fortify and furnish his castle!
3. Watch a movie at Palace 4D Cinema
If it starts to rain after you’ve just helped Detective Trace solve his case, come to Palace 4D Cinema for shelter. With one of three 4D shows playing every twenty minutes, there is plenty of entertainment to keep you entertained until the rain stops.
4. On The LEGO® Factory Adventure Ride, you can shrink down to Minifigure size!
There’s always something fun to do in Bricktopia, rain or shine. The LEGO® Factory Adventure Ride is an extraordinary indoor dark ride! Take a seat and prepare to be magically shrunk down to LEGO size as you immerse yourself in the creation of LEGO bricks.
5. Browse The Big Shop until the rain stops!
Come inside and explore the Big Shop, where you can find exclusive LEGO sets, hard-to-find items, and other fun items! However, it is not all about shopping. There is something for everyone, as you can take a test to find out what Minifigure you are, as well as participate in one of our mini-build experiences!
6. Let your imagination go wild in Bricktopia!
If you want to ride out the storm and put your skills to the test as a Master Builder, the best places to learn are Creative Workshop and Build and Test in Bricktopia. You can participate in one of six classes taught by one of the trained educators at Creative Workshop that will teach you how to combine your creativity and storytelling with S.T.E.A.M education to make some awesome creations. Don’t worry if you miss a class! The fantastic Build and Test is right next door, where you can build your own racecar and skyscraper!
7. Take a seat and a bite to eat!
Waiting for the rain to stop can make you hungry, so stop by one of the restaurants! Smokey’s Brick-B-Que (Bricktopia), Brickolini’s Pizza & Pasta (LEGO City), and Brickbeard’s Market (LEGO Pirates) are all sit-down restaurants! Enjoy some delicious barbecue, pizza, and more at one of these establishments!

LEGOLAND New York Official Rain Policy
While we’re confident that your visit to the LEGOLAND New York Resort will be one you’ll never forget, they can’t promise that the weather will cooperate. If the weather prevents you from enjoying the rides for more than 120 minutes in a row, LEGOLAND New York give you a Rainy Day Return Ticket good for another visit within the next year, provided you call ahead and make a reservation. You can pick up your return ticket at the Park’s main Guest Services Center. Passholders of yearly passes are not eligible, and you must use your voucher on the day of your visit at Guest Services.
